Good Morning my new friend!! No, we have never met, but we are fighting the same monster. The one who lives inside us that tells us we are worthless, and undeserving of love, and asks us why bother because we won’t amount to anything! Yep, were fighting the same war. We are soldiers in the same army fighting the same enemy!! One thing soldiers don’t do, is leave a wounded warrior behind!! So here I am to try and pick you up and carry you to the medevac.

We are soldiers in the same army girl, fighting the same monster, and we cannot win on our own. So I and my fellow soldiers need you. Together we can beat this. Together, we can care for our wounded, defend our borders, and launch an all-out assault on our addiction, and annihilate his ass. So we will be able to take in some of those he’s holding as prisoners of this war!!

So join our fight, my friend!! Not for your mom or dad, not even for your little baby, no!! YOU do this for YOU, and all that will come together. You’re a soldier, who like us, has been to hell and back. A soldier, who although is weak and tired from trying to battle alone, is nevertheless a fierce warrior! Who, alongside others like her, would be an unstoppable force to be reckoned with. One who will be able to share her experience with others as I am now with you and help save others from losing the fight!!

You had four months before, and you tasted the happiness, you said it yourself. You can do it again! I am only 46 days clean today my friend, so my pain is fresh too!! 45 days ago I was going to try and take my own life again, for the second time, but instead, I joined that army. I got a ride on the medevac chopper I’m offering to you. Now it’s your turn. From experience, I have learned, that one of the easiest ways to get help, is if you go to your local E.R. and tell them you’re a heroin addict. That you want to stop but can’t, and that you’re ready to quit (even if you’re not sure if you are, tell them that anyways). Let them get you into detox so you can be detoxified with meds, so your not sick. Let them put you in their behavioral health ward to detox and wait for a treatment spot to open. I’ve been in a hospital psych unit and they are not what you might think. I enjoyed the peace, solitude, and opportunity to talk with doctors about my crazy addiction, and I got some meds to help slow down my thoughts. Take whatever help they will give you, and be persistent girl. If people are cold and a bit jaded, you just tell em “I am dying over here, I need help,” and don’t leave until you get it. Don’t be scared, and remember, you can do this. We can do this together!

There is a girl in our army that is just a few years older than you, who has seen some of the toughest battles known to man and came out victorious. She has saved so many lives, including mine!! I will see her this afternoon at one of my support groups. I will see if she won’t drop you a line here as well. Remember your not alone!!! That we love you, and that we are here for you. My name is Marc McMahon, I have another article on this site you should read here. It’s real short and my first angry letter to my addiction. So you will see that if you read it, I too am truly an addict as well. Put your chin up girl, your shoulders back, and your fighting gloves on. It’s time to do this and be happy again, were rooting for you!!!
